Visit the original Sweden: Sweden becomes first country in the world to apply for Trademark.
Did you know that there are eight places in the world called Sweden? However, there is only one original. To strengthen Sweden's unique brand, and avoid any confusion, Visit Sweden is now applying to trademark the destination Sweden in true pioneering spirit. On 12 November 2024, Visit Sweden launched the campaign ‘Visit the original Sweden (Luxury of a different nature)’.
With campaigns that are sometimes a little outside what some people associate with traditional destination marketing, we want to challenge the destination Sweden to stand out and attract attention. The goal of campaigns of this kind is to create reach in relevant media and reach out widely, attract both journalists and international tour operators to want to visit Sweden and increase searches and googling of the destination Sweden. The campaigns strengthen and support Visit Sweden's other ongoing marketing efforts.
